DAVENPORT, Fla. (AP) — Gio Reyna has been welcomed back to the U.S. national team by Tim Ream, one of the group’s senior players, after the family of the young midfielder sparked a feud with Gregg Berhalter that left the coach’s future uncertain. After Berhalter used Reyna sparingly at the World Cup, the player’s parents, former U.S. captain Claudio Reyna and former women’s player Danielle Egan Reyna, notified the U.S. Soccer Federation of a 1992 domestic violence involving Berhalter and the woman he later married — Danielle Egan’s former college roommate. The USSF commissioned a law firm to investigate and appointed Anthony Hudson interim coach after Berhalter’s contract expired Dec. 31. The law firm said there was no legal impediment to retaining Berhalter, who remains a candidate, and the USSF put off a coaching decision until after a new sporting director is hired, probably this summer.Gio Reyna is among 24 players in camp ahead of CONCACAF Nati...Miami Open Results

BRUSSELS — The German government is trying to secure a future for the combustion engine, but it’s likely too late, Renault’s CEO warned Tuesday. That’s because carmakers have already switched billions in investment to batteries and hydrogen.Speaking at a POLITICO event, Luca de Meo, who is also chair of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), said carmakers had already responded to EU plans to mandate a zero-emission sales policy for cars and vans from 2035 — effectively banning the sale of new polluting cars — by funneling billions of euros into clean vehicle technology.“I don’t think there’s anybody … that’s developing a completely new engine in Europe,” said de Meo. “Nobody is, you know, from scratch developing a new combustion engine in Europe. … All the money is going to electric or hydrogen technology.”All three main EU institutions have backed the EU’s 2035 zero-CO2 emissions sales ...Crews work to remove giant crane that fell within feet of home in Chelsea

A massive construction crane collapsed in Chelsea Tuesday morning, barely missing several homes near the site where it fell.Residents living in a nearby two-family home were left shaken after the equipment toppled over just after 7 a.m., falling across a stretch of a construction site and into the neighboring property.Firefighters responded to the scene at Arlington and 6th streets to find the machinery on its side, with the boom of the crane sitting on multiple beams and its operator able to get out on their own.“The boom of the crane missed the back of the house by probably about ten feet,” said Chelsea Deputy Fire Chief Michael Masucci. “We had a technical rescue response. When I arrived on scene, I saw exactly what you see behind me – a crane overturned, into the steel bones of this building.”Fire officials said the operator of the crane was not injured but visibly shaken up and taken to a hospital for treatment. The work site remained sealed off for...Boston University women’s ice hockey team skates for National Down Syndrome Society’s ‘Racing for 3.21’ event
