DELLWOOD, Mo. - A wheelchair-bound man is asking for help after a large tree branch fell on his wheelchair ramp in Dellwood. Alvin Stiger was getting ready to watch the news Saturday morning, when the sky got dark as a storm rolled in. Then, a bolt of lightning lit up the sky. “We heard the wind blowing past the window, and then it was a loud boom, and a loud crash, and a loud thud,” said Stiger.  Five new Missouri laws to know that become official Monday A huge tree branch had fallen on his wheelchair ramp and onto the driveway, completely blocking him inside.“Well, I was glad that I didn’t have a doctor’s appointment,” he said. Stiger says this is the only ramp installed to his home. His wife, Cynthia Stiger, said the fire department came by to make sure to get the branches off the road. But to deal with the tree branch on their property, they’d have to call their insurance company. She said someone from the city of Dellwood came by to evaluate damage as well.  Close...

For far too long, the “F” in football around here has stood for failure with a capital F.The boring Broncos? A joke. The bumbling Buffaloes? A laughingstock. For far too long, the football season in our corner of the mountain time zone has been rocky, to put it mildly. But all that misery?Clown time for the Broncos and Buffs is over.Sean Payton and Deion Sanders will make football fun again in Colorado.I don’t need to guarantee it, because the new coaches in charge of the operation in Denver and Boulder won’t accept losing.Sanders stood up Friday and preached to more than 1,500 CU boosters at a kickoff luncheon. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A white man fatally shot three people inside a Jacksonville, Florida, Dollar General store on Saturday in a predominately Black neighborhood in an attack that the local sheriff called “racially motivated.” The shooter then killed himself.“He hated black people,” Sheriff T.K. Waters told a news conference. “There is absolutely no evidence the shooter is part of any larger group.”Waters said the shooter, who was in his 20s, used a Glock handgun and an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle with at least one of the firearms painted with a swastika. The clutch guy, the pillar.Flores’ two-run home run tied the game 2-2 in the third inning and gave the Giants a glimmer of hope to salvage a series against Atlanta. With how things are going in San Francisco, there was no one else in the Giants lineup that could keep that mojo going as they fell 7-3 and lost the series at Oracle Park with a chance to prevent a sweep on nationally televised Sunday Night Baseball. With that, they’ve lost seven straight series dating back to a two-game sweep against the bottom-feeding Oakland A’s in July. They’ve dropped 14 of their last 19 games and, as th...
