At least 167 flights into and out of Denver International Airport were delayed Thursday morning amid stormy weather, according to the FlightAware flight-tracking system.There also were 17 flight cancelations, the FlightAware online site said shortly before 10 a.m.Among airlines, Southwest had 149 flights delayed, followed by United with 46.On Wednesday, 608 flights into and out of DIA were delayed, with 129 flights canceled, FlightAware found.Thunderstorms hovered over Colorado’s Front Range Thursday for a second day, buffeting cities and the high plains with heavy rain, lightning and hail. Bicycle-Auto Collision near I-880 On-Ramp Left 29-Year-Old Salinas Man DeadHAYWARD, CA (May 11, 2023) – Sunday night, Christopher Cassel was fatally injured in a bicycle crash on Tennyson Road.Officers responded to the collision around 10:30 p.m. along eastbound Tennyson Road, just east of Interstate 880 on-ramp.Upon arrival, authorities discovered the bicyclist lying on the roadway. Meanwhile, the involved driver, identified as a 27-year-old man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.Tragically, the first responders declared the bicyclist dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 29-year-old Christopher Cassel of Salinas.Investigators said the drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the incident. MARTINEZ — One person died and another suffered major injuries late Wednesday night in a two-car crash on Highway 4, the California Highway Patrol said.The fifth fatal crash of 2023 on the highway happened about 10:40 p.m. in the westbound direction just before the Center Avenue exit, according to a statement from the agency released by Officer Adam Lane.The person’s identity was not available early Thursday, pending notification of the next of kin.There have been nine fatal crashes on Highway 4 since Nov. 16, 2022, the day five people, including three children, died in a wrong-way collision just west of the Loveridge Road exit on the westbound side.According to Lane, a gray Honda Civic crashed into a white Toyota Corolla as the two traveled west on the highway. (KRON) -- One man is in custody after a bomb-making facility was discovered during a burglary investigation Monday, according to the San Jose Police Department. Officers responded at around 4:17 a.m. to a report of a commercial burglary in the 1200 block of Old Bayshore Highway. Police, FBI investigating 1996 missing woman cold case in Redwood City park During a security sweep of the building, police said they located what appeared to be a destructive device manufacturing operation inside the business. PARIS (AP) — French prosecutors are seeking to send former President Nicolas Sarkozy and 13 others to trial on charges that his 2007 presidential campaign received millions in illegal financing from the government of late Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.After a decade of investigation, the French national financial prosecutor’s office announced its decision Friday to seek a trial. It’s now up to judges to determine whether to move ahead. The NCAA Football Rules Committee appears headed toward delaying Division III’s implementation of the new game clock rule for first downs for a year.The biggest rule change approved last month for 2023 will have the game clock continue to run when a first down is gained except in the last two minutes of either half. Previously, the clock stopped when a first down was gained and restarted on the referee’s signal.The rule will be used in the Bowl Subdivision, Championship Subdivision and Division II.
